FAQ

Q: Do you take any profit from your projects?

A: NO. When we're working with your hard earned dollars, it is imperative that we be above reproach in how we handle the funds you place in our hands. Here is the breakdown of where your money goes depending on which project you donate to:

1. For charity only projects, 100% of your donation goes directly to the charity, minus any fees that our website of choice charges.

2. For projects that include a gift for Darren, all monies received in excess of the cost of the gift go to the charity we are simultaneously raising funds for.

3. In the case of a sale such as the Calendars, we charge you the cost of the item, an estimated shipping charge provided by Canada Post, and a flat rate donation to the charity we're supporting. Because the shipping costs are estimated in the flat rate you pay, any overages are added to the total charity donation at the end of the project.

Q: Why do you only take Credit Cards for your projects?

A: We tend to use a third party site to recieve donations, as it is easier for us to keep track of the total number of donors and the correct amount of funds coming in. These sites tend to require that you pay via PayPal or a credit card. Because we are just ordinary people and not tied to a business or organization, we cannot accept funds in any other manner.

Q: Why do you do a birthday gift for Darren when he can buy his own gifts?

A: It's not really about the gift as such, but rather about what it symbolizes - showing our love and support for Darren in a tangible way. Darren is unbelievably generous to his fans. He often goes out of his way to meet and greet them. He is incredibly charitable as well. So, these gifts and projects we do are our way of giving back to a man who is so generous to others. The gift becomes a physical reminder of the love and support we have for him. We aim to make the gifts we give Darren reasonably priced and cut off donations once we've receieved enough to cover the cost. We ALWAYS do a charity portion to our gift as well. That way, both Darren and a worthy charity receive a generous gift every year!

Q: Darren tweeted about some of the projects but not about others. Does this mean he doesn't know about them or doesn't care? If I participate, will he see it?

A: We understand that if you are going to donate your time and/or money to one of our projects, you want to know that Darren sees what you do. We try not to involve his team in the logistics of our projects because we know how busy they are, but even in the instances where Darren does not recognize a project publicly, we do know that he and his team know about it. However, we DO NOT do these projects for any sort of recognition. The purpose of these projects is to show our love and support for Darren in a tangible way, not so we receive any recognition for doing them. Darren is NEVER required to acknowledge anything we do. We do not care about praise, thanks or recognition. As long as they put a smile on Darren's face, we have all the reward we need.
